How to Use WeldToolbox CAD

Follow these procedures to create and verify professional-grade welding symbols and joint designs, based on our Standard Operating Procedure.

Creating a Welding Symbol

  1. 1. Launch the Wizard

    Click the "Weld Symbol" icon in the Main Toolbar to open the Weld Symbol Wizard.

  2. 2. Configure the Symbol

    Use the controls to define specifications for the Arrow Side, Other Side, General Symbols (All Around, Field Weld), and Tail information.

  3. 3. Verify with ClauseBot PRO

    Click "Verify with ClauseBot PRO" for an instant AI-powered compliance check against AWS standards. Review the verdict, citations, and notes.

  4. 4. Export Proof

    Once your symbol passes verification, click "Export Proof" to save a PDF "Proof Bundle" for your audit trail and quality management system.

  5. 5. Finalize

    Click "Finish" to place the completed, verified symbol on the main Design Canvas.

Creating a Weld Joint

  1. 1. Launch the Wizard

    Click the "Weld Joint" icon in the Main Toolbar to open the Weld Joint Wizard.

  2. 2. Configure Joint Type

    Select the Weld Type (Groove/Fillet) and Joint Design (Butt, T-Joint, etc.).

  3. 3. Define Dimensions

    Input values for Base Metal Thickness, Root Opening, Groove Angle, and other required dimensions.

  4. 4. Set Styles

    Adjust the visual appearance of the drawing, including line colors, widths, and dimensioning styles.

  5. 5. Finalize
